The RSGP is a restoration and revitalization initiative planned with years of visioning by Reynolds staff and students. As a community action project, a team from the 2007-2008  class of Leadership Victoria helped Reynolds School launch their vision.

Thank you for visiting the project website.

The project will involve a Garry Oak restoration and natural revitalization on the front school grounds.

An under-used inner courtyard will be transformed into a self-sustaining, natural, learning and relaxing common area. Natural species, garden beds with water management, and aesthetic elements are components of the design.

Phase one

Leadership Victoria Community Action Project Team:

Kelly Binette, John Carlow, Dan Darche, John Craig, John Hall, and Barry Herring (Project Coach).

Leadership Victoria was established in the fall of 2000 through Volunteer Victoria. The program identifies emerging leaders and enhances their development in becoming community leaders. Part of the ten month program includes a team based community action project. Our project team values align with the vision for Reynold’s High School.

Our Involvement

Working with the Reynold’s Green Spaces Project Team we will develop a project blueprint and comprehensive planning document. The plan will encapsulate the vision for the school, visualize the design, layout and phasing of the large project elements. Detailing will include architectural drawings with potential sources of funding and logistical considerations. This phase of the project will be completed by the end of May 2008.

environmental concepts, concepts that will enhance the relationship between living things and their natural and built surroundings. The introduction of these concepts must begin early in the life of each child inorder to develop a responsible environmental ethic which will be sustained throughout life.
